A social dinner party, Sensory Physiology Group Dinner, follows the Whole Day Symposium (WD-IV-7, Processing and integration of sensory information). Symposiasts of this symposium are invited. All scientists who are interested in sensory systems are welcome to this dinner party.

The aim of the dinner is not only making a warm friendship among participants but also offering a special sensory experience with sake, a Japanese rice wine. Thus, various kinds of sake will be served at the party and you can taste all with a ‘sakazuki’, Japanese style goblet (ceramics or glass), of your own selection! There will be a talk on sake and sakazuki in English. The venue is Fushimi, a small town south of Kyoto, where many old sake wineries are still running, and the house where we get together was built in 1919 as the head office of Gekkeikan, a very famous sake-making company. Now the vintage house is used as an information center there.
